NEUROMORPHIC COMPUTING

Brain-inspired neuromorphic computing has the potential to overcome the inherent inefficiency of the conventional von Neumann architecture by using the massively parallel processing power of artificial neural networks. Neuromorphic parallel processing can be implemented naturally using the crossbar geometry of synaptic device arrays with Ohm's and Kirchhoff's laws. The massive parallelism and robustness of the weight update protocol are important features toward effective manipulation of big data through neuromorphic computing systems.

QUANTUM COMPUTING

Quantum computing is an area of study focused on the development of computer-based technologies centered around the principles of quantum theory. Quantum theory explains the nature and behavior of energy and matter on the quantum (atomic and subatomic) level. Quantum computing uses a combination of bits to perform specific computational tasks. All at a much higher efficiency than their classical counterparts. The development of quantum computers mark a leap forward in computing capability, with massive performance gains for a specific use case.
